A trading card of you. Take one selfie, and it's painted into a comic-style portrait on a real trading card with your name, a line about you and three joke stats. Hand printed cards out at parties, trips and nights out; friends scan them and you land in their Lineup.

To mug someone is to scan their card with the Mug camera, in person: the ring on the back of their printed card, or the “Mug me” card on their phone. They land in your Lineup. (It's a mugshot joke. Nobody gets robbed.)

No. Mug works in your phone's browser at mugcards.com. There's also an iPhone app if you'd rather have it on your home screen.

13 or older. You confirm it when you make your card, and that the card is of you.

Your own. A card has to be of the person making it. The one exception: a crew's host can make cards of friends for a party, and each friend claims theirs (and can change it or delete it) by scanning the key card in their stack. Photos of celebrities, children or anyone who hasn't agreed are refused or taken down.

You do. You own your photo and your words; you let Mug store, show and print them so the service works. See the Terms.

An AI checks it's a real person, another paints your portrait, and then the selfie is deleted. Only the painting is kept. Privacy has the details.

Reshoot it from Edit, as many times as you like, before you print. Printed cards are frozen as they were when you ordered, so print the one you love.

Yes. The AI suggests your line, your three stats and your scouting report, and you can rewrite any of them while your card is being made, or later in Edit.

Yes, any time, from Edit. It comes off everyone's Lineup. Printed copies stay with whoever holds them.

Only people with your link or your printed card. It isn't on Most Wanted or in search engines unless you turn that on in Edit.

Only you and the people who mug you in person. Everyone else sees which networks you're on, locked, until they mug you. They're never printed. Keep phone numbers and anything private off your card.

The ring is Mug's own code, drawn as part of the card. Each printed copy's ring works exactly once, so whoever holds the card is the one who can mug its owner. Old cards with a QR code still scan.
